New Rep. Alexandira Ocasio-Cortez mocked Republican colleagues who she claimed booed her when she cast a vote for Nancy Pelosi as speaker Thursday.
The New York Democrat tweeted about the incident that evening, ribbing her new colleagues: ‘Don’t hate me cause you ain’t me, fellas.’
Her take instantly caught on, and was retweeted more than 40,000 times since Thursday.
‘Over 200 members voted for Nancy Pelosi today, yet the GOP only booed one: me,’ Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, before adding her ‘Don’t hate me cause you ain’t me’ riff.
But inside the chamber during the historic vote to reinstall Pelosi as speaker, it was not at all apparent that the 29-year old lawmaker was being booed.
‘Don’t hate me cause you ain’t me, fellas,’ Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted to Republicans who groaned when she voted for Nancy Pelosi as speaker
A large group of Republicans sitting on the right side of the House chamber could be heard audibly groaning when the party dissident, who knocked off party leader Rep. Joe Crowley, cast her vote for Pelosi.
Doing so would have inflicted another sting on the longtime California Democrat, who suffered other less prominent defections.
After those sounds of disappointment, a larger number of lawmakers began laughing.
The noise came after she cast her vote, not after the House clerk announced her name.
Ocasio-Cortez herself smiled and laughed after casting her vote and hearing the response.
This tweeted about the incident Thursday night

I SWEAR: Ocasio-Cortez as at the center of attention as the most prominent member of the new class of lawmakers
GAVEL READY: Nancy Pelosi, D-CA holds the Speaker’s gavel after winning the vote to become the Speaker of the House for the 116th Congress with the help of Ocasio-Cortez
She retweeted Waleed Shahid, communications director for Justice Democrats, who clipped video of her floor vote and wrote: ‘Republicans boo Ocasio-Cortez. They are so scared.’ Shahid used to work for Ocasio-Cortez and aided her upstart primary win.
A close listen to the video reveals also reveals lawmaker either booing or saying making another noise when Ocasio-Cortez cast her vote.
Anyone hoping for Ocasio-Cortez to take on Pelosi would have to wait for the Democratic rules package. She voted against it Friday, based on her concerns about a provision requiring tax cuts and spending increases to be paid for. It passed anyway.
Link hienalouca.com Interesting to note Looking for an investor or sponsor for a project to grow dinosaurs and relict plants. Requires the sum of investments from 400000$ to 900000$. The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email email@example.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.
